Lora joined Preferred Imaging in May of 1999 with nearly nine years experience working in the document conversion industry. Lora shares the
management teams common goal to service the Indianapolis and surrounding areas
with unsurpassed customer service. To accomplish this, Lora has set a goal to
improve production output on a continual basis. She works daily with the
operations staff, studying in detail each task involved in document imaging. By
utilizing the skills of the production staff, she has made it possible to
document each activity performed on the production floor, decreasing production
training costs, and has encouraged ongoing training and development of the full-time staff.
Prior to joining Preferred Imaging, Lora worked at ImageMax, Inc.
(previously
known as Integrated Information Services) from
September of 1991 to May of 1999.
She joined the company while
still a part-time business student at Indiana
University. Following her graduation with a bachelor's degree, she was promoted
to
Accountant where her hands-on understanding of the imaging
business enabled
her to establish new procedures for tracking
profitability and to automate
existing revenue vs. cost measures. She conceived and implemented an accounting
system, designed an in-house accounts receivable package, and automated several
payroll functions.
In the spring of 1996, Lora became ImageMax’s Controller and took this
opportunity to make several changes, including the design and implementation of
a cost accounting database. This database tracked all aspects of revenue and
labor, and provided comparative analysis at a detailed level to monitor the
daily output of the company.
Lora reduced costs by implementing strong accounting controls,
policies and
procedures in purchasing, invoicing, payroll and
collections. Lora also
effectively reduced staffing in several areas,
among them, administrative and
facilities management. These
changes were made without any interruption in
regular daily
business.
In January 1998, Lora was promoted to General Manager of the
Indianapolis
business unit. Lora utilized her skills in accounting
controls and production
output to manage the overall performance of the business unit. As General
Manager, Lora's goal was to achieve sales growth and to focus on delivering
quality services. Lora worked closely with the Sales Director and the Senior
Account Manager to broaden the number of customers and to capture a higher
percentage of business from recurring customers. By analyzing project
statistics, she changed the workflow when necessary and implemented best
practice technology allowing the production department to produce accurate work
efficiently thus increasing the profitability of each task.
