SUMMATION
BLAZE
Summation® Blaze elegantly integrates Summation's document
database, transcript, annotation and case organizer features together with
Summation's document imaging module.
Summation
Blaze is an easy-to-use litigation support software package that meets
the challenge of the litigation process by enabling you to manage all of
your evidentiary documents quickly and efficiently. Summation
provides a database for summarizing documents as well as a full-text
retrieval program for searching the entire text of transcripts and
depositions.
Summation
Blaze features Blaze®, a technology developed for faster document
database searching and sorting of information. Blaze can increase
search speeds by orders of magnitude over searches done with traditional
databases.
Summation organizes
your files through a Case Management System that works the
way you do. You set up each case by naming it; then Summation
organizes your files into the appropriate directories. You work with
your files on a case-by-case basis, just as you do with actual office
files.
With your transcripts
and depositions, Summation takes advantage of technology available in
computerized court reporting stenographic machines. Your court
reporter can provide you with transcripts stored on floppy disks
(usually in addition to the hard copy) which you can easily transfer
to your computer's hard disk.
Summation
can then read the depositions and locate any word, phrase, date or number
in seconds. You can make notations while viewing the files on screen
or digest excerpts of the testimony into your annotation files. You
can search your transcripts individually or search through many
transcripts at once.
The Case
Organizer gives you the ability to organize case data into outline
form. You can transfer data from transcripts, annotations, the
document database, the search results window, digests, Summation's
MovieClipper, HTML files. You can also drag and drop text from other
OLE-based programs into case outlines.
Summation
Imaging provides instant on-screen access to your litigation
documents, anywhere within the program. You can view images using
the Quick View feature, attach images to transcript annotations or link
them to document summaries. Any black and white Group IV TIFF image
can be displayed an manipulated using Summation's imaging tools. Summation
Imaging features include redaction, where you can black out any area
of the image so it is hidden when displayed or printed. You can also
add an electronic Bates-stamp to an image, which is especially helpful
when as identification number has been assigned after the document was
scanned.
